How to Safely Use Stone Grinding Machine

The stone grinding machine is utilized in a machine shop for processing powder, such as calcite, chalk, limestone, dolomite, kaolin, bentionte, talc, mica, magnesite ,illite, pyrophylite and vermiculite, sepiolite, attapulgite, rectorite, etc. However, while operating a grinding machine, it may cause serious injuries to the machine operator or any person nearby. Hence, it is essential to observe the following safety precautions, in order to use a grinding machine safely, and thus avoid any injuries.

1. Always wear goggles during all grinding machine operations.

2. Machine guards must be in place and function properly.

3. Only those persons who are authorized as trained and competent operators must be allowed to operate the machines.

4. It is mandatory to provide sufficient instructions to the operators, and also constantly supervise the machine operations.

5. The machine must not be utilized to carry out tasks beyond its specific capacity.

6. The operator must operate only one machine at a time.

7. Make sure that the workspace is clean and dry before using the machine, as slippery flooring may cause injuries.

8. All operators must wear suitable personal protective equipment.

9. It is compulsory to wear eye protection equipments.

10. Persons with long and loose hair must properly tie them.

11. Dust masks must be put on in highly contaminated or dusty surroundings.

12. It is also compulsory to wear a hearing protection.

13. Everyone must wear hand gloves while operating the machine.

14. Operators must not wear watches, rings, or any other jewellery or accessory.

15. If a person has put on any medical alert identity, it must be taped.
